Neroli

Let's get to know this beautiful floral oil 🌸

Neroli essential oil is derived from the flowers of the bitter orange tree. doTERRA actually has three oils derived from this same tree— Wild orange is derived from the orange peels, Petitgrain from the leaves and twigs, and Neroli from the flower. How cool is that?!

One of my favorite aspects of the floral oils is that they are so delicate in their process of getting from their respective plants into the bottles in our homes. Orange blossoms will quickly lose their oil after they’ve been picked, and need to be steam distilled as soon as possible to produce the highest quality and quantity of oil possible.

Neroli is effective for pain and inflammation support, stress support, with studies showing this oil reducing cortisol levels, and endocrine system improvement.
There have also been studies done, with a randomized controlled trial showing that "inhalation of neroli oil by postmenopausal women improved their quality of life related to menopausal symptoms, increased sexual desire, and reduced blood pressure. In addition, inhalation of neroli oil may reduce stress levels and stimulate the endocrine system. These findings indicate that neroli oil can be used to relieve various symptoms related to menopause."

PubMed Study

Neroli not only helps promote unity physically but also emotionally and spiritually.

According to Emotions & Essential Oils, Neroli is a unifying and stabilizing oil. Its influence promotes harmony in the changing dynamics of long-term relationships. Neroli teaches that unity blossoms from adaption, cooperation, tolerance, perseverance, and kindness. This oil is great to use when you feel unstable and unsupported – particularly when it applies to your relationship with others, especially your spouse.

Suggested Uses:

Aromatic: Inhale from bottle or place in hands, rub together, and deeply inhale
Topical: Apply 1-3 drops over the heart, lower stomach, throat, pulse points, or behind your ears
