Top Tips for Sleep

Let's get a good night's rest 💤

broken image

I’ve compiled some of my top tips and habits that have transformed my sleeping routine to go from something that was hit or miss to now consistently being able to sleep peacefully through the night and wake up feeling refreshed 😌👇🏼

Create a relaxing environment

Exercise regularly but not too close to bedtime

Establish a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekends

Opt for a book instead of your phone to Avoid blue light

Prioritize rest by aiming for 7-9 hours of sleep

1. Take 1-2 Serenity Softgels 20 min. before bed

2. Diffuse Roman chamomile, Serenity, Cedarwood, or other calming oils to set a calming environment

3. Combine equal drops of Bergamot and Lavender for a relaxing pillow spray. I also like use a spray in the morning as I make the bed to set a nice tone for the day 🤗

4. Apply vetiver to the tip of your big toe, which is connected to the brain in reflexology. This oil comes from the root of the tree and is super grounding to help me get out of my head and slow my thoughts down

5. Each person is different, but for me I’ve found my REM cycles tend to be about 90 minutes, so it works well for me to set my alarm in hour and a half increments. The average cycle length in adults can be anywhere from 70-100 minutes, so find what works for you and when your body naturally wakes up to not interrupt your sleep cycle (7.5 hours or 9 hours is my sweet spot) 😴

6. Play a sleep prayer or meditation as you're going to bed. I personally use the Abide app and really like it!

Health & Healing,
