- Start small – choose one healthy habit to focus on at a time.
Don't try to implement all of the things all at once. Start with one new habit and build on once that one is established! - Find a way to make it enjoyable – find an activity or a way to do it that you enjoy.
If you don't like the thought of doing something, pair it with something you DO love and enjoy. For instance, I don't enjoy doing certain aspects of my business, especially during tax season 🙃 So instead of dreading it this year, I set aside a couple of hours to put my phone on do-not-disturb mode. I grabbed a soul-nourishing coffee, put oils for focus in my diffuser, and played background music I enjoy. Creating a pleasant, productive environment actually made me look forward to getting it done! - Set realistic goals – aim for something that is attainable and approachable.
For instance, instead of trying to run a mile each day, start with the simple habit of putting on your tennis shoes and walking for 10 minutes. You will probably end up feeling like doing more, but just focus on getting started 👟 - Track your progress – keep track of your progress to stay motivated.
There's a saying that's stuck with me: if you can track it, you can control it. So if you're not gauging where you're at, you're likely to continue to stay where you are. Get a planner or use an app to write down your progress - Make it a priority – prioritize your health.
Everyone wants it all until they don't have their health, then they only want one thing. Your health is wealth and it matters! - Exercise regularly – work up to getting at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily.
Instead of viewing movement from a place of punishment, think of it as a way of taking care of yourself and setting an example for those around you. Try pairing it with a podcast or something you enjoy. Movement is medicine 🏃♀️ - Eat nutritious foods – focus on eating a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, quality grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
You can't function to your fullest capability if your body doesn't have the nutrients your organs need to function. Just like your car needs fuel, so do you! If you find that your nutrition could use some help, try taking the Lifelong Vitality Pack and use the Greens, Fiber, and Protein doTERRA offers. - Drink plenty of water – aim for half of your body weight in oz. of water a day.
Pro tip: add in a drop of Lemon, MetaPWR, or Wild Orange for supporting energy, digestion and metabolism - Take care of your mental health – make sure you’re taking time to relax and unwind.
Set aside one day a week to take it easy and do things that you enjoy, spending time with the ones you love. You'll feel so much more refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the week. - Get enough sleep – aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night.
You can't create lasting change if you're depleted of energy. Trying Serenity in your diffuser and taking Copaiba Softgels (or a drop of Copaiba oil under your tongue) 20 minutes before you're going to bed to reset and recharge 💆♀️
Wishing you Health & Healing,
