My skin journey started when I was very young, before I can even remember.
What I do remember is dealing with skin issues on and off throughout my life.
Years ago, I found pictures of me when I was a child that confirmed for me this was something deeper. This picture is of my sister and I when I had a similar face outbreak to what I experienced in my 20s ↓
The above picture was taken during my last ditch effort to find a solution within the medical system. At this time, I went to 3 different doctors and was prescribed 2 ointments, which temporarily took away my irritation, but provided me no lasting solution. After a few months, I came to realize my body had become reliant on it, actually slowing down my healing in the long run.
After a couple of months, I made the decision to not use anything within the medical system. It wasn't an easy choice, and I do believe that there are times and places for the healthcare industry to step in, but when it comes to chronic conditions and diseases, we know much of the solutions out there are bandaid solutions and often have impacts worse than the original condition to begin with (just listen to any pharmaceutical commericial's laundry list of side effects).
Trust me when I say, this journey was PAINFUL at times.
There were multiple nights when I cried myself to sleep and wondered if I would ever get better.
Healing isn't linear, so it would get better for a time then it would get worse again. It fluctuated like this for around 3 years, with breakouts on and off, varying in severity.
In 2020, I found healing that has lasted now for over 3 years.
Though there are still times when I have to listen to my body and give it extra support, I'm so grateful for the healing I've experienced and am thankful for the resources God placed in my life.
Here's a photo of me recently ↓
PHEWWW is that a change.
There were tools that I used to help me on this healing journey, which I'm going to share with you, but I also want to emphasize that our journey is unique to us. Healing is not one-size-fits-all, and we all have different circumstances and underlying issues that may not align with my story. Nonetheless, this is MY story and I feel called to share it for those who are looking for hope and potential solutions.
One of the underlying causes of our physical symptoms is our emotions. Feelings are not facts, but they ARE a messaging system for us to become aware of what we're experiencing so that we can acknowledge and release them.
I do not make money from sharing these, with the exception of anyone who uses my website to order doTERRA products. I feel passionate about that company and the simple, healing tools that they provide, because essential oils have been so key in my transformation. But I also want to be open in sharing the other products and solutions that made a difference for me:
- Looking at what foods trigger breakouts, and doing an elimination diet until that's pinpointed. (The goal is to heal and be able to integrate these foods back in, but that timeline will look different for everyone).
In my case, peanuts and gluten were two of the top trigger foods. Peanuts are high in mold and mycotoxins, and peanut oil was also used in vaccines for many years, so my body had a strong defense response to them. Gluten is high in glyphosate, the toxin that's sprayed on many foods and used in RoundUp.
- Shilajit: 84+ minerals that promote healthy DNA and bodily functions
- Zeolite Spray or Drops: supports the safe detox of environmental toxins
- Terrazyme/Digestive Enzymes: supports the body’s constant production of enzymes critical for healthy biochemical functions, including healthy digestion of food nutrients and cellular metabolism of nutrients to energy
- Finding the underlying emotions at the root. For me, the face represented my identity and the fear of being seen. My breakouts often occured when I would do live videos or presentations, so I had to do a lot of inner work to heal my triggers. Journaling, tapping, prayer, and meditation helped me significantly. It's amazing what can change when you release attachment to a version of yourself and give it over to God instead.
- Sunlight! This one is not to be overlooked. Get outside, put your bare feet on the earth every day, and soak in the sun unfiltered for 15 min. a day to get healthy levels of vitamin D. The earth is one of the greatest (free) anti-inflammatories.
- Sweat it out: getting in movement and using an infrared sauna has helped my skin tremendously. If you need encouragement, consider doing the 75 Hard program.
- Reduce toxins: by using natural cleaners, eliminating fragrance-filled products, and replacing them with things that come from nature, my health improved tremendously.
Think about it this way: when your toxic load is high, your body will be more sensitive to toxins. Imagine your liver is a cup. If that cup is only slightly filled, when you add more water (toxins) to it, it's not going to be too noticeable. But if you have a cup that's on the brink of being full, when you add any amount of water to the mix, you're going to see the effects spill out and it will be evident that a change needs to happen.
Our body is a divine messaging system. There were no mistakes made when we were created. So, in my opinion, one of the greatest lessons that come from stories like mine is that sometimes circumstances are needed to push us closer to who we're meant to become, and to lean closer on God and the natural tools the earth provides. Don't bypass the journey. Feel what's coming up for you to learn, don't be afraid to consult others outside of yourself, and remember that healing is possible!
Blessings,
Kallie
